Case Studies
The project is being managed by the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust. It is currently underway and is expected to be finished by 2025. When it’s done, the travel between Chennai and Bengaluru will be cut down to just two to three hours.
The project involved two significant infrastructure projects that will enhance the connectivity along the corridor: Bangalore-Chennai Expressway and Bangalore-Chennai Dedicated Freight Corridor. Both projects aim to upgrade both road and rail transportation making it easier to move cargo and connect with Chennai and Ennore ports. The CBIC projects will enhance industrial growth and regional connectivity as well as social and economic benefits for the local population.
Nippon Koei in partnership with PWC prepared a comprehensive Regional Perspective Plan for the CBIC region, along with a strategy for transforming the region into a globally competitive investment destination. The master plan covered growth and development over a 20 year period and identified nodes for industrial development along the corridor including detailed masterplans for two of those nodes.
